Manaslu Expedition Autumn- (8,163m)

Mount Manaslu is one of the popular mountains situated at an altitude of 8163m above sea level. A Japanese expedition conquered this peak for the first time in 1956. The name of this mountain comes from the Sanskrit word ‘Manas’, meaning "Intellect" or "Soul". Just as the British considered Everest their mountain, Manaslu has been always regarded as the "Japanese mountain" by the Japanese people as the Japanese team step atop it for the very first time.

The villagers of Samagaon told that the first attempt, which has been made from Budi Gandaki Valley in 1953, had been responsible for an avalanche that destroyed a monastery & refused to let the 1954 expedition to climb. The expedition set off to climb Ganesh Himalayan instead of Manaslu. Despite a large donation for the rebuilding of the monastery, subsequent Japanese expeditions, including the one that made the first ascent in 1956, was done in an atmosphere of animosity and mistrust. The second successful Japanese expedition was done in 1971. After this, a South Korean team attempted in 1971, and in April 1972 an avalanche that killed five climbers. And 10 Sherpa's ended the second made the fourth ascent of mount Manaslu, as a member of a Tyrolean expedition that climbed from the Marshyangdi valley in 1972. Mount Manaslu is one of the best peaks for adventure lovers.
