Shishapangma Expedition From Kerung Spring- (8,027m)

Mount Shishapangma 8027m the 14th Highest Peak in the world Situated in the autonomous region of China called Tibet, Mount Shishapangma is one of the very lovely and holy mountains at an altitude of 8027m. Before China provisioned Tibet summiteers in 1978, only a very few people in the world were known to this mountain. It is youngest mountain among 14 peaks situated above the height of 8000m. Till to date many climbers have succeeded to step on its peak.

Route: The North-West normal route to Mount Shishapangma takes us up to the easy angled snow slopes at 35 degrees with one steeper section. The important lines will be fixed and placed on the steeper or crevassed sections. We will arrive at base camp (5000m) after acclimatization in Nepal side Sybrubesi, Kerung, Dzongkha to make our final preparations and acclimatization walks ready. Yaks carry our expedition gear from Base camp to Advanced Base Camp at 5,400m. Three further camps will be placed to trek ahead.

Camp 1- 6,730m – We reach camp 2 afte ra 6-7 hours walks, crossing many snowy slopes by fixing ropes in the places of crevassed.
Camp 2- 7,045m – We reach camp 3 after 5-6 hours via steep ascent leading to very gentle ground below the northwest ridge.

Camp 3- 7,400m – It takes 9-12 hours to reach the summit from Camp 3. Our climber’s physical fitness, favorable weather, and other condition determine whether we climb ahead or not. We also may need to add a few more days for acclimatization at different places. Climbers may also leave the base camp if they can succeed the mountaineering in shorter a period than the prescribed time.
