Mount Baruntse (7,129m) Expedition Full Board Spring

At an elevation of 7129m is situated Mt. Baruntse on the lap gap of Mount Everest and Mount Makalu. This mountain was first climbed by Colin Todd and Geoff Harrow on 30 May 1954 via South-East Ridge. Till today, climbers have used this route to reach its summit. As Mount Pumori, Ama Dablam and Mount Everest, this mountain is attracting the tourists to climb it. The south-East Ridge of Baruntse is quite difficult because of the steeps and hard sections of 50 Degree's elevation with a prominent ice cliff to be climbed facing the risk of avalanche on the way. Spring is the best season to climb it but many began their expedition in autumn too.

The Monterosa Treks and Expedition, located at Thamel, Kathmandu has been scheduling the itinerary to reach Mount Baruntse from Kathmandu and Lukla flight followed by an approximately 11 days walk to Baruntse Base Camp. After completing the expedition, we use the same Lukla and Kathmandu to return back home. The Base Camp of Baruntse (5200m) is located near by Panch Pokhari. One can also conquer Mt. Baruntse through the Arun valley via Makalu Base camp.
